Nishatpura police have arrested a 30-year-old miscreant who sexually assaulted a 7-year-old girl in the evening on Friday; the victim was lured by mobile phone.
The accused took the victim at around 6.30 pm on Friday evening when the girl was playing with children, accused picked him up and took her to the terrace of the Dharamshala(rest house).
Meanwhile, the children playing together raised an alert and locals nabbed the accused and handed him over to the police. The accused had lured the girl to show her the mobile.
According to the police, the seven-year-old girl, who lives near the Hanuman temple, studies in the third standard. His father works near the temple. On Friday evening, the girl was playing with the children of the neighborhood near the temple, when Bhagwat Vishwakarma (30), who lives in the locality, reached and took her.
The children playing together reached the terrace after they found that the victim had not returned for long. They found the accused and raised an alert and locals reached the terrace. People caught the accused. Immediately people informed the police. Police reached the spot and arrested the accused.
SI Monika, who is investigating the case, said that the accused is married. He works as a laborer. The girl's father works near the temple. Everyday children come to play near the temple.
The accused used to sit near the temple in the evening after work. On Friday also the accused reached the temple. After this he took the girl to the terrace.
