The Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) has cancelled 286 admissions in medical colleges conducted through PMT exam held in the year 2012. Based on ‘unfair means’ category used to clear the PMT examinations around 272 admissions have been cancelled after it was found by the investigating agency, Special Task Force (STF), that 701 candidates of PMT-2012 were allotted roll numbers to help the candidates to clear the examination, said the official statement released by MPPEB on Thursday.
To crack the logic used in distributing the roll numbers a team of computer experts was made which found that the roll numbers provided to 701 candidates have set patterns and common patterns in the filling of answer sheets was also found and which requires proper planning and execution. Around 272 candidates were found involved in the clearing the examinations and their admissions have been cancelled. Another 14 admissions were cancelled in the PMT-2012 examinations after STF found that the OMR sheets were filled by the MPPEB officials.
The fact was revealed during the investigation by the STF when the agency found the names of these 14 candidates in the ‘reserve data’ in the hard drive confiscated from the then in-charge of computer section of MPPEB Nitin Mahendra.
