A 26-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at Indra Nagar under Bairagarh police station area on Saturday. According to the police, Vicky Moolchandani was found hanging at his residence on Saturday and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
Police were informed and after preliminary investigation a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered. The victim used to work at a cloth store in New Market. The police did not recover any suicide note from the spot which could help in revealing the reason of suicide.
Victim’s family has claimed that for the past two months the victim was ill and frustrated from his illness he had committed suicide. Meanwhile a 26-year old girl who committed suicide on Friday by setting herself ablaze died during treatment on Saturday at Neel Sagar Colony under Ratibad police station.
According to police the victim Preeti Mehra set herself ablaze on Friday night and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Her condition was stable but due to severe burns her condition deteriorated on Saturday and she died later during treatment.
After preliminary investigation the body has been sent for post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC. The police have started investigation and would try to find out the reason which forced the victim to take the extreme step.
Police said that the family members and colleagues of the victim would be questioned. The victim was a teacher by profession and committed suicide following a dispute with her family members on Friday.
