A 25-year-old youth died while driver and two labourers escaped with injuries after a harvester in which they were travelling turned turtle near Dobra village under Eithkhedi police station area on Tuesday.
Police said that a harvester met accident near Dobra village where it turned upside down and injured people were rushed to a nearby hospital where one of the injured was declared dead.
The deceased was identified as Sukhchain Singh of Firozpur while driver Neeraj and two other labourers escaped with injuries. After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and case was registered.
Police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC against the father of the deceased. The further investigation has been started in the matter. The tractor was driven by Neeraj while Sukhchain used to work as labourer with the harvester.
In the night Neeraj along with three labourers was passing near Dobra village when he lost control over harvester at a speed breaker injuring the four persons and all of them were rushed to hospital were Sukhchain was declared dead. He was trapped after harvester turned turtle.
During the investigation if the driver of the harvester would be found accused of negligence leading to the death of the youth, a case under section 304 A of the IPC would be registered, said police.
