A 25-year-old girl died under suspicious circumstances at her residence at Jyotiba Phule Nagar under Habibganj police station area on Monday. According to the police, a girl fainted and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. The deceased was identified as Reena Patel.
The deceased used to live with her cousin at a rented house in Jyotiba Phule Nagar. The deceased hailed from Rewa and came to the city in search for job after completing her engineering.
SHO of Habibganj police station Ravindra Yadav said that in the post-mortem report suspected poisoning has been revealed but it could be ascertained that the deceased consumed poisonous substance or she was bitten by poisonous insect or reptile. Details of the cause of the death would be revealed in the further investigation.
The family took the body to Rewa for performing last rites. More details of the deceased would be revealed after detailed post mortem report would be received, he added. In the initial investigation police found that the deceased fainted and when she was rushed to JP hospital she was declared dead.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
Police said that deceased’s roommate and family members would be questioned which could help in the investigation but at the moment police are yet to establish the reason behind the death and it was a suicide or the she was poisoned.
