A 25-year-old newly married woman committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at her residence in SKS hospital premises under Kolar police station area on Friday.
According to the police the deceased Kusum Jethwa was found hanging and was declared dead by the doctors of the hospital. Police said that Kusum Jetwa was a resident of Dewas. She got married to Kamal Singh of Ujjain on April 15, who works as Technician with SKS hospital. On Wednesday the deceased and her husband arrived in the city and on Thursday Kamal went to work in the morning and when he returned at around 11.30 am the doors were found closed and after getting no response he informed his colleagues who rushed to his help and it was found that the deceased was hanging with the ceiling. The deceased’s husband has claimed that the deceased was upset over her boyfriend’s suicide a day before their marriage on April 16. She was not willing for the marriage but the family members have denied allegations raised by husband.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered. Police said that statements of the family members were recorded on Friday. Deceased’ brother Jayant said that Kamal told the family that they would visit Indore but went Bhopal which is still unclear and he should be asked regarding the same. Investigation into the matter has been started and reason of the suicide which forced the deceased to take extreme step would be investigated.
