A 24-year-old married woman committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at her house in Siddharth lake City under Piplani police station on Friday. Family members of woman alleged that she was killed by her husband and in-laws.
Police said that the deceased Asha Das was found hanging with the ceiling and was rushed to nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
After the death parents of the deceased alleged that the deceased’s husband Kamlesh used to beat her brutally. The two got married in the year 2016 but the marriage never turned healthy for the deceased as she was harassed and tormented by her husband alleged the parents of the deceased.
The deceased was a resident of Seoni. The husband works as assistant engineer with MPSEB. The deceased had a two month old daughter.
During the investigation police found that the husband of the deceased was at work and when he returned he found the deceased hanging.
Police have not found any suicide note which could help in the revealing the reason behind the suicide. The reason behind the suicide would be investigated.
The parents of deceased told police that frequent disputes used to take place between the couple and after the marriage Kamlesh used to physically assault their daughter over petty issues.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC. Police have started further investigation. The case would be investigated by CSP.
