A 24-year-old security guard of a private security agency was nabbed by MP Nagar police near Hamidia hospital for molesting a 21-year-old woman at a hostel in MP Nagar zone- I on Wednesday; accused used to work at the hostel where he targeted, molested and harassed girls.
Police said that the accused Govind Ahirwar was nabbed who used to molest and harass the victim who is preparing for competitive examination.
The accused was obsessed with the girl and even contacted with her father claiming that he would commit suicide if the victim would not marry her.
The accused used to send obscene and indecent messages to the victim over mobile phone and whenever the victim used to oppose she was threatened of life.
In the initial investigation police found that the accused used to peep inside rooms of girls at the hostel and when the girls would object he would escape in the name of security check which should be conducted frequently.
The victim is a resident of Balaghat who lodged a complaint with the MP Nagar police and based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police registered a case under section 354 and 506 of the IPC and started further investigation.
The victim came to the state capital for preparing for competitive exams around two months ago and from the starting she was harassed by the accused. After the accused found that the victim has lodged complaint he went absconding but was later arrested by the police.
