A 23-year-old youth committed suicide at Bharti Niketan under Govindpura police station area in the evening on Saturday.
The deceased Rahul Gupta was found hanging by his roommate Avinash Kumar and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
Police were informed and on the receipt of the information a police team reached the spot and started investigation.
In the initial investigation no suicide note or reason was found by the police that could help in revealing the deceased’s extreme step of suicide.
The deceased hailed from Bihar and was preparing for competitive examinations.
The body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. The call record details of the deceased would be investigated in the further investigation. The roommates failed to provide any detail regarding the suicide and expressed ignorance over the suicide as they were not present at the time of the incident and deceased was normal and no change was found in his behavior. Police said that possibility of suspicious death could not be ruled out and other aspects leading to the death of the deceased would be investigated during the further investigation. Meanwhile, a couple sustained severe injuries after the bike they were riding was hit by a speeding tractor near Doraha under Gandhi Nagar police station area on Saturday.
Qamar Mansuri and his wife Rubina Mansuri were injured after their bike was hit by a speeding tractor. Police have registered case of rash driving and started search for the accused.
