Depressed over not having children a 22-year-old married woman committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at her Itwara residence under Kotwali police station area on Thursday.
Police said that the deceased Momita Mayati was found hanging and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
In the initial investigation, police found that the deceased committed suicide at in the wee hours and his body was spotted in the early morning hours. During the investigation police have not found any suicide note or any reason behind the suicide. The family members failed to provide any reason behind the suicide.
It was found that the deceased used to remain depressed for the past few months as she was not having children after five years of marriage. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
Meanwhile, a 62-year-old man who was injured on May 18 after he scooter rammed into a pole when he lost control over the scooter near Holy Family School under Gandhi Nagar police station area on Thursday while undergoing treatment.
According to the police the deceased Shri Ram Singh was on his scooter when he went for some work and met accident and rushed to hospital where he died during treatment on Thursday
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
