A 17-year old girl was sexually assaulted by her 22-year old cousin after captivating her in a house at Dwarka Nagar under Bajaria police station area on Friday.
According to the police, the victim was held captive and was raped by the accused Radhe Singh, who happens to be victim's cousin.
Investigating Officer Sub Inspector Swaminath Yadav said that the incident occurred on Friday evening when the victim's family was celebrating birthday of victim's brother. The accused was invited at the birthday function and after his arrival he asked the victim to get music system from his house and while the victim had gone to his house, the offender locked the door and sexually assaulted the victim and escaped the spot.
Crime record of the accused would be searched and information from his native place would be collected which could help in his arrest. During the investigation the police found that the accused used to run tea stall for the past few years and was a frequent visitor at the victim's house.
The accused hails from Sitapur area of Uttar Pradesh and used to run a tea stall near Bhopal railway station. The victim reported the incident to the family and later a complaint was lodged with the Bajaria police.
Based on the information after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 376, 342, 506 of the IPC and section 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act -2012.
Victim's father runs a tea stall near platform number one of the Bhopal railway station. The accused is still missing and police have claimed that he would be nabbed soon.
