A 22-year old woman was allegedly sexually exploited for the past three years by luring her on the promise of marriage in Ashoka Garden. The victim has on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the police.
According to the police, the victim lodged a complaint with the Ashoka Garden police on Wednesday and based on the complaint a case was registered against the accused Anil Dwivedi.
Police said, the accused used to live near Nehru Middle School at 80 feet road. In the year 2012 victim who used to live in Sunder Nagar came in contact with Anil Dwivedi who used to live in a rented apartment.
During the investigation police found that the two have lived together but the fact would be investigated. The victim is a resident of Sunder Nagar and became acquainted with the accused in the year 2012 and the two soon developed physical relationship. The accused used to sexually exploit victim promising that he would soon marry her, but after two years the accused started to evade meeting her and later refused to marry her after which the victim was left with the option of complaining with the police.
Dwivedi was nabbed on Thursday after the complaint was lodged by the victim. The police have registered a case under section 376 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Police have started searching for details of the accused and would search for his involvement in such crimes targeting women in the past. The claims of the victim would also be investigated said police.
