A 22-year-old newly married woman committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at her Vishwakarma Nagar residence under Govindpura police station area on Thursday.
According to the police, the deceased Durga Mandal was spotted hanging by her husband Mithun Mandal after he returned from work on Thursday and when she was rushed to a nearby hospital she was declared dead. Police were informed and on the receipt a police team reached the spot and started investigation.
Investigating Officer ASI Dayashankar Tiwari said that the deceased got married around a month ago with Mithun Mandal. In the initial investigations no suicide note was recovered and nothing which could help in revealing the reason behind the suicide was found.
The statements of the family members are yet to be recorded and in the further investigation the statements of the family members would be recorded to reveal the reason behind the death. After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. The post mortem report is awaited and after the post mortem report would be received more details of the suicide could be revealed, he added.
Deceased’s husband who is quack was at work and when he returned on Thursday evening he found that the deceased was hanging with the ceiling.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. The deceased hailed from Betul and got married around a month ago and the deceased came to the city few days ago.
