Failing to persuade his wife to return, a 22-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging in his Nawab Colony residence under Nishatpura police station area on Tuesday.
According to police, the deceased, Arif, was found hanging and was rushed to nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Police were informed and a police team reached the spot and started investigation.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.In the initial investigations police found that the Arif’s wife had gone to her parents house and refused to return even after several requests made by the deceased.
The deceased used to work as a driver and got married around two years ago but few months ago he left the job and got addicted to liquor. He left the job and used to have fights with his wife. Dejected over the problems his wife left the house and started living with her parents few months ago.
Police have not recovered any suicide note which could confirm that the deceased committed suicide after his wife refused to return from her parents’ house but in the investigation the possible reason of the suicide was found to be refusal of deceased’s wife.
Investigation is on and other possibilities would be searched. The reason of the deceased leaving the job would be searched and reason behind the fights between the two would be investigated said the police.
