A 22-year-old girl was attacked by two miscreants with sharp-edged weapons after she opposed teasing and molestation at Kabeetpura under Teelajamalpura police station on Sunday; her brother sustained injury in rescuing her.
According to the police, the victim and her brother were was attacked by miscreants identified as Rizwan and Aman with a sharp-edged weapon in which the victim’s brother sustained injuries in his right hand.
The injured victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was provided with treatment. Police in the initial investigation found that one of the accused Rizwan who lives in the same area reached the area and informed that free ration distribution is going on and on hearing the information the victim came out for collecting the ration while she was on her way Rizwan teased and molested her which she opposed and raised alarm which alerted her brother who came to her rescue but before he could rescue Rizwan’s brother Aman came with a sharp edged weapon and attacked them.
In a bid to save himself he sustained injuries in his hand. The victim lodged a complaint with Gautam Nagar police and based on the complaint and after the preliminary investigation,the police have registered a case under sections 294 and 324 of the IPC and have started further investigation. The miscreants are yet to be arrested. Police said that crime record of the accused would be investigated. The house and other places were raided but the accused managed to remain absconding.
