Quite on the heels of the suicide by a college-going girl in the city the other day, a 21-year old girl fell to death from the roof-top of a posh residential building in Vijay Nagar locality. The deceased identified as Puja Tomar (21), daughter of SS Tomar died on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital. The incident has confused even the city police following an initial probe into the matter, they have not able to ascertain whether the incident is a murder or a suicide.
According to Vijay Nagar police, the deceased who was studying in third year B Com in a private college, had reportedly fell from the rooftop of a residential multi-storey building Prime Regency in Scheme No. 74 on Tuesday. Vijay Nagar police came to know about the incident on 11.30 pm on Tuesday and when they reached the incident site, the victim who had sustained severe injuries had been taken to Apollo Hospital by her family members. However, she could not be saved and died while undergoing treatment on Wednesday morning.
A security guard of the building who is a witness to the incident said the victim fell from roof top of the building at around 10.45 pm. I heard a huge thud sound. Puja was lying in a pool of blood on the ground, the security guard said adding that he immediately informed about the matter to the building residents. In the meantime, victim’s father apparently taken aback by the incident came downstairs from his flat and within minutes the victim was rushed to hospital.
According to police, the victim’s father is a director in a private company. last night, she had gone to roof of her building to study as she had to appear in her B Com examination on Wednesday. Meanwhile, police are zeroing in its investigation on various angles. The police are still not buying family members’ plea that she had gone to roof of the building for studying that too in the darkness.
