attacks on doctors rising

Gwalior:Attacks on doctors and hospitals in the state have been on the rise in recent months. While there are differences of opinion on what triggers these conflicts and about the primary circumstances that give rise to these doctor-patient conflicts, the authorities agree that this is a matter of great concern.Concerned by these developments and to check further conflicts the government is considering incorporating ‘public dealing’ in the MBBS Course. The Medical Council of India has already begun the process by which medical students, along with their medical studies will also be trained in dealing with the patients and their attendants. In the proposed course the students will be trained on better behavioral attitudes along with their academic studies. The aspiring doctors will be told to fulfill their medical duties with a humanitarian approach. They will also be counseled to give correct and truthful information to the attendants of patients. The students will also be told to take extra care while treating serious patients and keep a cool head in case of any dispute by not indulging in any heated arguments with the patients or their attendants.
