fmpci organises outstanding awards
Bhopal: At the Outstanding Awards programme organized by Federation of Madhya Pradesh Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FMPCI) AMV Yugandhar, Executive Director BHEl, Bhopal was felicitated by Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan. BHEl, Bhopal has been honoured for outstanding achievement in the large industries of the PSU category. On this occasion Sanjeev Gupta, General Manager (P&D, IT) and Arun Hemrom, AGM (PYX & IEX) were present.
Meanwhile, in a simple programme held at Occupational Health Services centre TG Chouragade, General Manager, WE, CS inaugurated the newly renovated audiometry room at the centre. On this occasion Dr AK Dave, Chief Medical Services, Kasturba Hospital; Dr Anita Chandra, Head, Radiology & OHS; Dr VK Onkar, DGM, OHS and other senior officials of WE&CS, FCX, MOD and HSE were present. Earlier, Dr Onkar welcomed the guest and RD Bhardwaj, Sr. Officer Industrial Hygiene highlighted the importance of audiometry room.
CBI arrests senior section engineer
Bhopal: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has on Wednesday arrested a Senior Section Engineer (Bridge) of Western Railway, Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh from the complainant.
A case was registered against Senior Section Engineer (Bridge), Western Railway, Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh) on the allegation of demanding a bribe of Rs one lakh from the Complainant in lieu of allowing his company to complete Railway bridge construction work at Ratlam. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh from the Complainant. Searches were conducted at office and residential premises of the accused. The arrested accused was produced before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jodhpur (Rajasthan).
2 youths drown in narmada while playing
Jabalpur: Two youths drowned while they were playing with tennis ball along with their friends in Narmada river in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district. Mohammad Imran (20), Mohd Zahid (18), Mohd Rizwan (20), Mohd Siyaz (20), Abdul Ansari (30) and Mohd Niraj (20) were playing with tennis ball at Bhatauli Ghat last evening when Abdul was swept away in strong current. Rizwan tried to save him but met the same fate.
Abdul's body was fished out last night. Rizwan's body was found this morning.
dowry demand lands groom in jail
Jabalpur: Vexed over the demand for dowry by the husband-to-be after 'varmala (garland exchanging ceremony)', a bride left the wedding pavilion and reached straight to the police station in this cantonment town. Acting on the woman's complaint, police arrested the groom and put him behind the bars for whole night. However, both sides reached for a compromise this morning.
“lakhnadaun-resident mechanic laxmi Yadav's marriage was fixed with Barela Pindrai-native Ankita Yadav. A wedding procession arrived from lakhnadaun last night. Just after 'varmala', the groom demanded a motorcycle, five acre land and ` 51,000,” said Town Inspector (Gauri) Mohammad Samir. Shocked over the demand, the bride's family member pointed out that they had already paid `51,000 during 'laguan' ceremony and expressed their inability to provide more. Both sides entered into an argument over the matter.
Meanwhile, the bride's family demanded to see jewellery from the groom's side and found them to be imitations. Besides, 'mangalsutra' was missing. Annoyed over the matter, the bride broke the marriage and lodged a complaint against the groom at Gauri police station.
Police said that both sides arrived at a compromise this morning and the bride withdrew her complaint.
gaur asks to take action against illicit liquor
Bhopal: Home and Jails Minister Babulal Gaur has directed to firmly curb sale of illicit liquor and intoxicants in rural areas. Gaur was holding discussions with IG Hoshangabad Range Satish Saxena and SP Harda Prem Babu Sharma on this issue at Harda today.
Gaur said that during his visit to Harda and Timarni, villagers had informed him about sale of illicit liquor. Its sale should be checked firmly. He directed for penal action against anti-social elements involved in illicit sale of liquor.
