16-year-old kidnapped, raped
Bhind: A 16-year-old girl was kidnapped and allegedly raped in Katha village, police said. The accused, Krishna Murari Bhardwaj forcibly took away the victim to a secluded place, yesterday and sexually assaulted her. The girl later informed her kin and a case was registered against the accused in Mihona police station. However, accused fled soon after committing the crime, police added.
Deranged man kills kin
Bhind: A deranged man fatally axed his younger brothers wife which resulted in her death of this district. The incident took place when the victim, Radha (24), was attacked by her brother-in-law with the axe while she was in kitchen. She was rushed to district hospital but as her condition deteriorated, she was referred to a hospital in Gwalior where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment today, City Superintendent of Police Gulbag Singh said here. The accused, Tunde Tomar, was arrested, police said.
Employee kills self by jumping into river
Barwani: A Government employee allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Narmada river at Raj Ghat about five km from this district headquarters on Sunday, police said. Kuldeep Khede (36), who was posted in land Record Department of the Collector Office here, went to the river on his two-wheeler and then jumped from the bridge this morning. A suicide note was found near the spot of suicide in which he took responsibility for his suicide.
Truck falls into river, labourer dies
Satna: A labourer died and five others suffered grave injuries when a speeding truck fell into the Veehar river after losing control near Vidhuri village, police said. The incident happened late last night. The deceased was identified as Jagdish Singh Gaud. The injured were admitted to Government hospital in Amarpatan, police added.
2 girls drown in pond
Sagar: Two girls drowned while they went to take bath in a pond in this districts Bina today, police said. Deepshika (12) and Shivkriti (14) went deep and met with the watery grave. However, another girl Draupadi was rescued by the villagers. The bodies were fished out by the police and sent for post-mortem.
Smack smuggler held
Jabalpur: Police launched a drive to curb smuggling of intoxicating substance and a smuggler was arrested with 12 gm smack here on Sunday. Police said Sandeep Namdev (24) was waiting near a temple in Beg bag area when a police team cordoned off the area and arrested him.
