A 40-year-old man riding a scooter died while pillion rider escaped with minor injuries after their vehicle was hit by a low floor city bus at lily Talkies square under Jehangirabad police station area on Tuesday.
According to the police, Deepak Namdev died after his scooter was hit by a speeding bus while his neighbour Vandana Srivas, pillion riding sustained multiple injuries.
Vandana Srivas is a woman head constable posted at Ashoka Garden police station and was hit while on her way to work along with Deepak, who runs a shop in Ashoka Garden area.
The deceased was a resident of Raisen and had gone to meet his sister in law who is posted as clerk at state police headquarters and lives at police line and on Tuesday Vandana who is Deepak’s sister in law was offered lift by Deepak as he was on his way to his shop in Ashoka Garden.
