State forms panel to send awards’ proposals
Bhopal: Union Ministry of Woman and Child Development has instituted two awards- ‘District Woman Award’ and ‘State Woman Award’, since 2014-15. The State Government has constituted a committee to send proposals of women for the awards for their works towards women’s welfare, outstanding service/ dedication in this regard to Central Government. Principal Secretaries/ Secretaries of Public Health & Family Welfare and Social Justice departments have been appointed committee’s members. Commissioner/Director Women’s Empowerment will be committee’s Member-Secretary.
Rs37.25 l for Jabalpur College electrification
Bhopal: A sum of Rs37.25 lakh has been sanctioned to Government Model Science College Jabalpur for electrification and other works. Of this, Rs14.81 lakh has been allocated for electrification, Rs5.88 lakh for improving residential quarters and Rs11.50 lakh for construction of 2 rooms in girls hostel.
‘ensure foodgrains supply to SC, ST hostels’
Bhopal: From November 1, 2014, 12.5 kg foodgrains at the rate of Re one per kg instead of Rs5 per kg per student are being made available to SC, ST hostels. This decision is benefiting 73,545 schedule tribe students and 1.68 lakh scheduled caste students. The decision will entail additional financial burden of Rs13.22 crore per annum on the State exchequer. Food and Civil Supplies Department has directed collectors to ensure supply of subsidised foodgrains to hostels through fair price shops to manage this system smoothly.
