No Govt schools can be closed

Bhopal: Decision to close Government schools at district-level cannot be taken without prior permission of the State Government. Directives in this regard have been issued to all divisional commissioners and collectors. According to the government, if need is felt to close schools then a decision in this regard can be taken by concerning collector only after seeking permission with School Education Department. District administration takes decision to close schools from time to time. This casts adverse effect on teaching work. About 88 per cent schools in the state are run in one shift from 10 am to 5 pm.
