Perk for MPCA’s chief coach raises eyebrows
Indore: Rise in annual perk of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association’s chief coach and former international cricket player Amay Khurasia has invited sharp flak from a section of the MPCA members who have reportedly unjustified such a huge raise in perk of Khurasia. According to sources in the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, the MPCA has reportedly given a huge annual increment of Rs9 lakh to the MPCA chief coach Amay Khurasia and accordingly has signed an annual contract of Rs25 lakh with Khurasia. MPCA sources have attributed such a big raise in the annual contract of Khurasia to his proximity with the current MPCA president Sanjay Jagdale. According to report, Khurasia who is a level-3 coach in the BCCI earlier during the MPCA elections had been offered the post of MPCA secretary but he had reportedly declined this offer and instead expressed his willingness to become chief coach of the MPCA on an annual contract of Rs 16 lakh. However such a huge raise in his annual perk has apparently not gone well with many MPCA members. Khurasia’s tensure as chief coach of the MPCA will expires in October next year.
