Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will lay foundation stones for Bahuti canal construction and Teonthar Bahao (Mini Bansagar) project in Rewa district. The Rs 1,410 crore projects will irrigate 1.02 lakh hectares of 722 villages of the area.
Total cost of Bahuti canal project is Rs 708 crore. The project will irrigate 65,000 hectares in 391 villages. Work of Teonthar Bahao project commonly known as Mini Bansagar is also going to commence. Its total cost is Rs 702 crore. It will benefit 331 villages and irrigate 37,050 hectare. Of this, 24,400 hectare will be irrigated in 215 villages of Sirmaur Vidhan Sabha constituency and 12,650 hectare in 116 villages of Teonthar.
