A 12-year-old girl who sustained burns and injuries, on Wednesday alleged that she was raped. She was suffering from mental illness, claimed the family members and the police officials.
According to Inspector General of Police Upendra Jain, the experts are investigating the case and nothing could be concluded at the moment. The girl was not examined medically for the sexual assault till late night.
Jain told that the family members have confirmed that the girl was under the influence of evil spirits and was suffering from the same for the last one year but was not getting relief after visiting exorcist. On Tuesday, victim’s father who works at Mandideep had brought the victim at his brother’s house at Bilkharia.
During the procession performed by the exorcist, the victim sustained burn injuries at several parts of her body. Family members informed the victim’s father and on Wednesday the girl was brought to the Anantshree hospital near Jublee gate BHEl, where she is undergoing treatment.
When the victim’s uncle and family members were questioned they confirmed that victim sustained burns in her cheeks and has injury marks in her hands which are of sharp-edged weapons.
The police has not registered any case in this regard
