A 20-year old youth who went missing on November 17 was found dead in a lake in Suraj Nagar under Ratibad police station area on Monday.
Tension prevailed in the lake area near Suraj Nagar in Ratibad after body of a youth was found on Monday; police were informed after the locals spotted the body and on the receipt of the information police team reached the spot.
The deceased was identified as Shubham Yadav who was missing for the past seven days. Identification of the deceased was made by identity card found inside the bag with the body.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
Family members have alleged that the deceased was disturbed after he was threatened by the family members of a girl, who studied with the deceased.
Family member claimed that the deceased went to science center on November 17 along with the girl and both returned after the class and after sometime the girl contacted Shubham over mobile phone and asked him to visit her at home. He went to meet the girl but when he returned he was scared and later left the home to attend birthday party of his friend Prashant but never returned.
In the initial investigations no visible mark was found on the body of the deceased which suggests that the deceased was not killed. Police have not found any suicide note and claimed that it is a case of suicide.
Shubam was resident of Sudama Nagar and used to attend coaching class science center for PMT examinations.
