A 20-year-old youth was robbed of his mobile phone while he was speaking over phone at Sonagiri under Piplani police station area late in the night on Thursday. The cost of the mobile phone was `15,000. According to the police, a youth was targeted by three bike-borne masked miscreants and escaped with the mobile phone. The victim approached Piplani police and lodged a complaint regarding the robbery. In his complaint the victim stated that when he was near Balaji hospital at around 11.30 pm and was speaking over phone, three bike borne miscreants who were masked attacked him and snatched his mobile phone and escaped the spot. The victim raised alarm but before someone could help him they managed to escape the spot. Victim has claimed that the mobile phone taken away in the robbery was worth `15000. The area was not having proper lights due to which the victim was not able to notice the registration number of the motorbike. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The three bike borne miscreants were masked due to which the victim was not able to provide description of the miscreants. Police suspect that it is possible that the victim was followed before he was targeted and they were looking for deserted place which could provide them an easy escape.
The victim was walking towards his house when he was targeted.
During the further investigation police would search the nearby installed CCTV camera footages which could help in nabbing the miscreants.
