A 20-year-old prisoner committed suicide at district jail on Saturday; deceased was serving jail for sexual assault, suicide note was found from deceased claiming that Rs 7 lakh were demanded from victim’s family members.
He had come to the district jail in January. In the morning he was found unconscious in the jail and was brought to the district hospital, where the prisoner died during treatment.
A suicide note was also found from his pocket in which he had written that that he was falsely implicated. The people of the victim’s side are demanding Rs 7 lakh to withdraw the case.
District Jail Superintendent PK Rana said that 20-year-old Dharmendra son Laxminarayan of Ajaypur Tehsil Suwasra, who was serving a sentence in jail, committed suicide.
A suicide note was also found from his pocket. The deceased was sentenced to ten years in the rape case registered at Bhanpura police station, when he was in Garoth jail. Apart from this, there is also a case of rape and POCSO Act in Jhalawar. Dharmendra was sentenced to 10 years in the rape case registered at Bhanpura police station.
He was sent from Garoth Jail to Mandsaur Jail on January 29. On Saturday morning at 9.30, it was reported that Dharmendra had a seizure of epilepsy and was taken to hospital.
