A 20-year-old youth died after his bike was hit by speeding auto rickshaw at Bimakunj under Kolar police station area late in the night on Saturday.
Police said that an injured youth was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Deceased was identified as Rajan and was a resident of Kajlikheda village he used to work as security guard. The deceased met accident while on his way to home.
Police have started to search for the errant driver and vehicle. After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. During the investigation the errant auto rickshaw driver would be traced. The footage of the nearby installed CCTV camera would be investigated to establish the identity of the auto rickshaw.
The deceased was under the influence of alcohol is yet to be ascertained and the errant driver was drunken could be established after the driver would be nabbed.
Meanwhile, a 49-year-old woman died who was electrocuted at Ratibad late in the night on Saturday; Ratibad police have started investigation.
The deceased identified as Deepa Kushwaha got electrocuted while she was filing water in the air cooler at her house. The incident took place when the victim was filing water in the air cooler and came into contact with the air cooler and got electrocuted.
Body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and started further investigation.
