Two persons died after their motorbike was mowed down by a speeding motorbike at Amjhara trisection under Bilkharia police station area on Friday.
According to the police, two persons were injured after they hit by a speeding truck at Amjhara square late in the afternoon and when they were rushed to a nearby hospital they were declared dead. The two were identified as Tularam Mehar(50) and Bhaiyalal Mehar(45).
SHO of Bilkharia police Rajesh Kumar Sinha said that the incident took place when the two were trying to cross the road and were hit by a speeding truck trailer which hit the two and later it went down slope in a gulley near the road.
The two were rescued with the help of locals and later when they were rushed to a nearby hospital they were declared brought dead. The impact of the collision proved fatal for them. The truck bearing registration number UPET-6613 which killed the two has been seized but the driver managed to escape leaving the truck and search for the errant driver has been nabbed, he added.
The two were relatives and were on their way to Amjhara. Tularam works as security guard at Bawadia Kalan Khurd. After the preliminary investigation the bodies were sent for the post mortem and a case under section 304 A of the IPC was registered by the police.
Police said that the driver was in an inebriated state or it was a technical problem which lead to the accident would be investigated. The deceased were in an inebriated state could be revealed after receiving the post-mortem report.
