A19-year-old deaf and dumb girl was molested and sexually assaulted by her neighbour at Damkheda under Kolar police station area. A case was registered on Saturday.
According to the police, the victim was sexually assaulted by the accused, Ramkesh Dhavri. At the time of filing this report, the accused was absconding.
The victim lives in Damkheda and while she was doing household chores, the accused came and took the victim to his house and raped her. While she was being taken away by the accused, her nephew, who was playing near the victim, spotted and informed victim’s mother who rushed to her rescue. After seeing her mother, the accused fled. The victim, along with the mother, approached the police and lodged complaint.
Details of the accused are being probed. The family and friends of the accused would be questioned. The crime record of the accused would be investigated.
Meanwhile, Hanumanganj police has arrested four women on the charge of obstructing officials from discharging their duties.
The accused women tore uniform of on-duty police personnel protesting arrest of a molestation accused who had been absconding for the last four days.
The arrested women were Meera, Bindiya, Sapna and Poonam.
They were family members of Rajnish Kataria. Based on the victim’s complaint, the police have registered a case of molestation and threat to life and nabbed the accused who remained absconding for the past four days.
