19-year old married woman hangs self

A 19-year old married woman committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her Sai Baba Nagar residence under Habibganj police station area on Saturday.According to the police, the victim Salma Bi was found hanging at her residence and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead. 

During the investigation the police found that the deceased’s husband Shahid Khan used to fight with her over petty issues. After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.

The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.The deceased got married around 18 months ago but within few days her husband started abusing and fighting with her, demanding money and other goods. The couple did not have any children.Police would record statements of the family and relatives to find the reason behind the extreme step taken by the deceased.

The circumstantial evidences suggest that the deceased had committed suicide but other possibilities could not be ruled out as the post mortem report is awaited and after receiving the post mortem report more details about the death could be revealed.
