A 19-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at Umaria village under Nazeerabad police station area on Saturday.
According to the police, Raksha Meena was found hanging at her house and was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead.
During the investigation, police found that the deceased had eloped with a youth. The family lodged a missing complaint, police tracked her and returned her to the family.
After the incident she was kept at her sister's house who was married in Umaria village. Police have not received any suicide note in the initial investigation but it is possible that the deceased was not wiling to separate from the youth.
The post mortem report is awaited which would help in revealing more details of the suicide. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
Meanwhile, an 18-year-old girl died after she fell inside a well at Neechi Laloi in Berasia on Saturday. The deceased Keerti Jathav fell after she lost balance while cutting grass near the well. She was rescued and taken to hospital where she was declared dead.
