An 18-year-old girl died after her scooter was hit by a speeding car near Ekant Park under Habibganj police station area on Wednesday.
According to the police an injured girl was rushed to a JP hospital where she was declared dead.
The deceased was identified as Nikita Vishwas of Priyadarshini Colony. The deceased met accident while on her way back to home after attending coaching class. The deceased was a student of class XII.
The car bearing registration number MP04HC7909 hit the scooter from behind and escaped the spot. Police said that the accident took place at around 6 pm which proved fatal due to head injuries sustained by the deceased.
The errant driver escaped the spot after hitting the scooter and is still missing. Based on the details of the errant car search for the accused has been started by the police.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.
The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old man died who was hit by a speeding motorbike at Balampur village under Sukhisewania police station area on Tuesday.
Police said that an injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was referred to Hamidia hospital and later died during the treatment. The deceased was identified as Gokul Silawat of Balampur village.
Body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. Police said that a case under section 304 A of the IPC would be registered later in the investigation.
