An 18-year-old youth died while another sustained injuries after their motorbike was hit by a speeding car near Sakshi Dhaba under Ratibad police station area in the evening on Saturday.
Police said that two youths in an injured state were rushed to a nearby hospital where one of them was declared dead while other escaped with injuries.
The deceased was identified as Tanmay Aljiwale while the injured was identified as Kapil.
The deceased sustained head injuries which proved fatal and he was also without helmet. Kapil escaped with multiple injuries over the body.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under 304 A of the IPC and started search for the errant driver.
The registration number of the errant car and other details would be investigated.
Meanwhile, two workers of a private school died of electrocution at Abbas Nagar under Gandhi Nagar police station area on Saturday.
Police said that two workers of a Eastern Public school in Abbas Nagar died of electrocution in the afternoon when they went inside well to clean water pump.
The deceased were identified as Dahrveer Singh and Bahgwaan Singh.
SHO Gandhi Nagar Kuldeep Khatri said that the two died after short circuit occurred inside the well while they were cleaning the water pump.
The post mortem report is awaited which could help in the further investigation and provide details, he added. Bodies were sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered.
