Frustrated by ill-behaviour of step-mother and distrust by her father’s behaviour, a 17-year-old girl committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance at Rahul Nagar under Shymala Hills police station area on Monday.
According to the police, on Monday morning when victim’s father went to woke her up the victim Sheetal Mehra was found in an unconscious state after which she was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
The victim used to work at a beauty parlour in Shahjehanbad and used to return at around 11-12 in the night. Few years ago her father got married. The behaviour of the step-mother was not good towards the victim.
The father used to suspect that the victim was involved in some relationship but was not confirmed and whenever she used to return late he used to scold.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have sent the body for the post mortem.
Meanwhile, a 28-year-old woman died at lake City Hospital who sustained burns while cooking on April 2 at Barkhedi under Jehangirbad police station area.
According to the police, on April 2 the victim Rajshree Sahu was cooking at her house when accidentally she clothes caught fire and sustained burns.
At the time of the incident the family members were not present in the house. The locals rushed to save her and took her to lake City hospital.
During the treatment her condition deteriorated further and she died on Monday.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC.
