A 16-year old youth was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a quarry in Shanti Nagar under Gandhi Nagar police station area on Saturday.
Police said, the body of Pradeep Ahirwar, a Class X student, was located by villagers at Shanti Nagar at around 11 am.
A police officer investigating the case said the Pradeep was missing since September 4 and deceased family had lodged a police complaint with the Gandhi Nagar police.
The police, as per available evidences, also suspected that he might be drowned on September 4 and the body surfaced on only Saturday.
Moreover, no injury marks have been found on the body which suggested that the victim might have gone to take a bath at the water ditch formed at the quarry. Police also suspected other possibilities of killing the victim at some other place and later dumped at the quarry.
Deceased’s father who worked at a petrol pump rejected any enmity or fight and denied that his son might have been killed by someone.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case under Section 174 and have started investigation. After preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.
