VHP patron Ashok Singhal on Saturday said that 15,000 godmen would run a public awakening campaign across the country during the general elections, with the objective of making the BJP’s prime ministerial nominee and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of the country.
“The campaign will percolate to the block level. The decision was taken by saints at a meeting of the Central Advisory Board during the two-day Magh Mela that commenced in Prayag on February 1.” The holy people said that they are not any party’s supporters, but would gather public opinion in Modi’s favour, Singhal said, adding that the decision was taken to ensure liberation from the loot and corruption of the present regime at the Centre, besides establishing Hindu society’s religious values.
