A 15-year-old girl was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Khatlapura under Jehangirabad police station area in the morning on Sunday. According to the police the deceased, identified as Sama, was found dead on Sunday morning and her body was fished out by the divers. In the initial investigation police found that the deceased went missing on Saturday evening after she went to purchase vegetables and never returned. The family members searched for the deceased but failed to find her and later lodged a missing complaint with the Jehangirabad police.
At around 6.30 in the morning some local informed that scarf and footwear of a girl are found near Khatlapura and on the receipt of the information police team rushed to the spot and started investigation. later the family members confirmed that the belongings were of the deceased. The body of the deceased was fished out by the divers.
ASP Zone 1 Rajesh Chandel said that at the moment nothing could ascertained as the post mortem report is awaited and in the initial investigation nothing has been found that the death was accidental or the deceased has committed suicide. The deceased went to purchase vegetable at around 7.30 pm on Saturday and never returned. The family member started searching for the deceased, he added. Injury marks were not visible over the body claimed the police and possibility of sexual assault could not be ruled out but as the post mortem report is awaited nothing could be revealed regarding the death of the deceased.
