It is noteworthy that eminent singers of the country have lent their voices to National Song Vande Mataram written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.A number of states could not start this tradition. In this respect, Madhya Pradesh’s initiative is praiseworthy at the national level. Anyone can take part in singing of National Song voluntarily. There is no compulsion on government servants to take part in it. This best practice has completed 10 years. Today, singers gave a musical presentation of the song. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, several Ministers, Chief Secretary Anthony DeSa and other senior officers have been participating in it from time to time. For the last 10 years, this programme is being held regularly on the first working day of every month.
The monthly programme of chorus singing of Vande Matram was introduced on July 1, 2005 to inculcate nationalism and attachment with country among all people including government servants. A number of government servants posted at Vallabh Bhavan lend main voices to chorus singing. They do this voluntarily. There is group of about 30 government servants for disciplined and musical presentation of Vande Matram. General Administration Department has provided musical instruments to the group.
