Infuriated over fight with younger sister, a 12-year-old girl committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at Karond under Nishatpura police station area late on Wednesday night.
According to Nishatpura police, Sheetal Soni was rushed to Hamidia hospital where she died during treatment. Police were informed and on the receipt of the information, a police team reached the spot and after the preliminary investigation, the body was sent for the post mortem.
During the investigation, police found that the deceased took the step after a fight with her younger sister while playing at her house. The deceased got enraged over the fight and set herself ablaze, which proved fatal for her.
Police said the father of the deceased works as a labour.
The family claimed that the incident took place suddenly and before they could rescue the deceased, she had sustained fatal burn injuries and later, succumbed to it.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, frustrated over constant harassment by money lenders, a 50-year-old class IV employee posted with BHEl Bhopal committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at his Barkheda residence under Govindpura police station area late on Wednesday night.
According to the police, Jainarayan Dahiya was found hanging at his house and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Family members claimed that the deceased was a habitual drinker and gambler and used to borrow money for the same. The deceased used to work at BHEl hostel and on Wednesday evening after work, he reached home and after dinner, he went to his room where he was later found hanging.
During the initial investigation, police have found a suicide note in which the deceased has claimed that he was constantly harassed by few persons, who have provided him money.
The police have registered a case under section
174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation in the case.
