An 11-year-old boy drowned into a ditch near BDA colony under Awadhpuri police station area on Sunday. The deceased was playing near his house and accidentally fell in the ditch.
According to the police the deceased Sivansh was declared dead when he was rushed to JP hospital after removing him from a ditch in the morning, he fell while playing near his house when the incident took place.
The ditch was around 5 ft deep in which the deceased fell and later drowned.
At the time of the incident Siwansh was playing with his friends during which he fell inside a ditch behind his house. Family members and locals rushed to the rescue and removed him out of the ditch and rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.The incident took place at around 10 am on Sunday at the backside of the house of the deceased.
In the initial investigation police found that the deceased fell accidentally but it would be investigated that the deceased fell or he was pushed by someone while playing.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and the police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC.
Police said that it was an accident but foul play could not be ruled out and would be investigated.The statements of the family members and children playing with the deceased at the time of the incident would be recorded which could help in the investigation.
