A 10-year-old girl was held captive and sexually assaulted by a youth at PC Nagar under Habibganj police station area on Thursday.
According to the police, the victim was captivated and sexually assaulted by an unidentified youth. The victim managed to escape and after returning home, the victim reported the incident to her mother. The family decided to lodge complaint of the atrocity with the victim and lodged a complaint with the Habibganj police. After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under Section 376 of the IPC and Section 7/8 of POSCO Ac against the unidentified youth.
Victim’s father who works as a construction labour told that the victim was shocked with the incident and was not able to speak. She was not able to provide the place where she was held captive by the accused and the details of the accused. Police said that the incident took place while the girl was on her way back to home after purchasing goods from grocery shop but before she could reach her house she was captivated and sexually assaulted.
The police have started searching for the miscreant, but there is no clue to him as he remained unidentified till date. Accused might be from nearby area or it is possible that the youth was not from the city as youth as the youth of the same area would never dare to commit such act as his identity might be revealed by the accused.
The locals and the grocery shop owner would be questioned in the investigation. Based on the description of the victim sketch would be made which would help in searching the accused.
