Govindpura police have nabbed a 33-year-old man who held a 22-year-old woman victim captive on Monday night in his car at Rachna Nagar and roamed with the victim for six hours before leaving her near her house. The victim was kidnapped by her Facebook friend Deepak Singh Dangi and was forced to marry her.
The accused works as a contractor and was friend over facebook with the victim for long. In the night on Monday the accused came to victim’s room and when the victim refused to open the door he barged into the house and took the victim in his car at around 11 in the night and for the next six hours he kept her captive in the car and roamed places pressurizing her to marry him.
The accused dropped the victim near her house in the morning at around 5 am and escaped the spot.
The victim lodged a complaint with the police.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 458, 365, 427, 294, 323 and 506 of the IPC and nabbed the accused.
The victim hails from Raisen and is pursuing her graduation from a private college. The accused is a resident of Bhopal.
The two were acquainted and were friends over facebook and later developed relationship. The accused was interested in marrying the victim but what went wrong is yet to be investigated. Police have started to search for the past record of the accused. The crime record of the accused would be searched.
