A 20-year-old girl died while seven persons were injured in a massive head-on collision between two cars near Jagran Lakecity University under Ratibad police station in the afternoon on Thursday.
The head-on collision proved fatal for Priya Shrivastava while seven passengers sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to Bansal hospital and are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The In-charge of Ratibad police station JP Tripathi said that in the two cars 5 and 3 passengers were travelling. The passengers are students of Jagran Lakecity University and Excellence College. The details are yet to be ascertained. At the moment one casualty has been confirmed while the remaining passengers have been admitted at Bansal hospital.
The body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation. The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and have started investigation.
One of the cars was damaged severely which suggest that the cars were moving with very high speed while other car turned turtle near pond. Police said that the reason of the accident would be investigated. The deceased was a student of Excellence College.
