Universities should take up responsibility to take up social concerns. Society must come forward to work for health of girls and to make them free from malnutrition.
There should be interconnection between the universities and primary schools.
This was said by the Governor Anandiben Patel at Convocation Ceremony of Devi Ahilya University of Indore on Sunday.
The Minister for Higher Education Jeetu Patwari stressed on establishment of bench of International standard at the university.
The Chairman of the University Grant Commission DP Singh, Vice Chancellor Narendra Dhakad, Former Vice Chancellor, Members of Working Council and Prominent Citizens were present during the ceremony.
Patel mentioned that it is must for the universities to conduct studies, examination and declare results at the specific time. She further mentioned that there should be interconnection between the universities and primary schools. Children of primary schools should be taken on tour of universities so that interest for higher education could be developed in them. Patel called on the PhD recipients to present their research before the society.
She also dedicated Online Examination Result System of the University.
Minister for Higher Education Jeetu Patwari said that a Bench of International standard should be established at the University.
The Higher Education Department will take initiative in this regard.
Reminiscing his student life, Patwari said that he had participated in many movements in this campus itself. He has been showered with love and even received scolding from teachers at this place.
Patwari further said that education, which teaches good behavior without any grudge is need of the time. Not only personality but education plays an important role in refining family and society.
He asserted that we all have to make efforts to ensure that students from various countries should come to pursue studies in the university.
The special guest of the Convocation ceremony and Chairman of the University Grant Commission DP Singh said that universities should become center of seedling of new thoughts and perceptions. Intellectual discussions should always take place in the university.
He appreciated the resolution of the university to take it to the global platform of the higher education.
The Vice Chancellor of the University Narendra Dhakad gave convocation discourse and administered oath to the students.
‘Research Journal’ edited by Prof Gyanprakash was released by the guests during the programme.
