Men need to change their outlook towards women. In India women have always broken stereotypes and proven that they are capable of doing things in a better way than men are capable of. Many women have demonstrated their worth in various fields like politics, administration, sports and industries. As a society it is our duty to prepare them for their future reality.
This was stated by Jyodiradita Scindia, former Union Minister and Member of Parliament while addressing a meeting of the District Women’s Self Aid Society, organized by the Madhya Pradesh Day Rural Livelihood Mission at Shivpuri.
Addressing the meeting as the Chief Guest he further said that it is a matter of great pride that the collector and the district Panchyat President of Shivpuri are women.
Scindia also expressed delight that one lakh twelve thousand women have benefitted through 406 self aid societies in the district. He further said that these women are capable of achieving great things if the society comes to their aid. He promised the gathering that he will do everything possible to make the self aid societies more effective and supportive to women. He also said that he would talk to the Chief Minister to explore ways to provide a greater market for the products that are created at the self aid societies.
Giving details about the self aid societies, District Collector, P Anugraha said that children’s dress, sanitary napkins, washing soaps and incense sticks are among the things that are being made at the self aid societies. She further said that edible items are also made in some societies.
Later, Scindia, the collector and the other dignitaries visited the stalls set up by various societies. A jacket, made by one of the societies was presented to Scindia. After wearing it he commented that he would wear it the whole day.
