Once their blind parents expressed their wish that their son had fulfilled all their wishes, one desire remained the same. He expressed his desire to do pilgrimage Shravan Kumar, who obeyed the parents and promised him the desire to fulfill his wish. By taking the kanwar on the shoulder and sitting in both of them, they left for pilgrimage.
One day, with the auditory parents, he reached the forest near Ayodhya, where they were resting at night. When his mother was thirsty, he went to take water from the river flowing nearby. Shravan Kumar went to Sarayu along with his lotch to take water. At that time the King of Ayodhya was Dasharath.
King Dashrath was also in the forest for hunting. By mistake he stuck his arrow in Shravan Kumar's chest. When his parents discovered that this has happened, they cursed Dashrath that he will also face loss of his son and that is why King Dashrath was unable to live with his son Ram.
