Dept of PMR AIIMS Bhopal celebrated “International Day of Persons with Disability” today and organized an Exhibition for patients and staff on “Advanced Prosthetics”. The event was attended by many patients, students and staff of AIIMS Bhopal.
The Director AIIMS Bhopal appreciated the efforts of the department and said such state of art innovative technology should be made indigenously to cut down the pricing so that it is available to large population in country like India where amputation is one of the leading causes of Divyangta. He also added that patient support groups should be created which would help to identify individuals in the society and help them with the available resources; AIIMS Bhopal PMR dept should take initiative in such community rehabilitation program.
The exhibition had Bionic Hand which wasthe center of attraction along with many advanced hydraulic joints and Carbon fiber foot.
