Union Human Resources Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nihshank' said that India will provide protection to those minority people who are victim of severe atrocities in other countries. The party had declared the commitment in this regard in its poll manifesto. Those, who are creating ruckus protecting the Citizen Amendment Act (CAA) must reply as why minority in Pakistan and Bangladesh was reduced drastically in last 70 years.
Pokhriyal was addressing a programme organised to mark death anniversary of renowned journalist and nationalist thinker Manikchandra Vajpayee, known as Mamaji, at Samanvay Bhavan here today. He was chief guest of the function organised by Manikchandra Vajpayee Janmashati Samaroh Samiti, daily Swadesh and Vishwa Samvad Kendra.
Pokhriyal said that we must give strong reply to those who are creative negative environment in country with bad mentality and are making educational institutes as place of hatred. Pointing out the figures of minority in neighboring countries, the minister said that population of minority people in Pakistan had reduced to 3.7 percent from 23 percent of 1947. It is 7.9 percent from 22 percent in Bangladesh. Minority in India had increased from 8 percent to14.23 percent.
This shows liberty in India. Recalling the contribution of Manikchandra Vajpayee, minister Pokhriyal said that Mamaji was combination of a journalist, a teacher and a Sangh pracharak and had minute observation skill. He also advocated not mixing views in news and maintained fairness and objectivity in journalism. His principle of news writing is most relevant today.
Key speaker of the programme, former MP and thinker Dr Mahesh Sharma said that controversy over CAB and NRC has come up because of misinformation. Society becomes victim of misinformation when it does not have proper practice of study and research. He said Pt Deendayal Upadhyay had envisioned the structure of present BJP as a national party for creating space for alternating politics.
Union Minister for agriculture, rural development and Panchayati Raj Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, on the occasion, recalled the contribution of Mamaji and said his vision and views will guide next generations. His words also inspired for doing better for the society.
Chairman of organising committee, and former Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki said that Mamaji was inspiring figure and had no disparity in his doing and saying. He was a philosopher.
